GARDENING. - Alexander McDONALD. A Complete Dictionary of Practical Gardening; Comprehending All the Modern Improvements in the Art. London: George Kearsley, 1807. 2 vols, 4to (263 x 198mm.) 61 hand-coloured engraved plates, 13 uncoloured engraved plates by F. Sansom and Sydenham Edwards. (Occasional browning and spotting, more so to preliminaries and rear leaves.) Near contemporary half green morocco over marbled-paper boards, gilt lettering to spines (rubbing to extremities, some surface wear). Provenance: John Warren (bookplate to the front pastedown).
