LOT 1092
An early 19th century oak longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch painted break arch dial with Roman hours, subsidiary seconds and date dials and inscribed 'JnO Bromley Horsham', the hood with moulded arch pediment and three brass ball and spire finials, above a glazed door and turned columns, the trunk with arched door, on a plain base and bracket feet, height 219cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: John Bromley is a recorded Sussex clockmaker, born in 1779 in East Grinstead and working in Horsham by 1812 until 1839, when he was succeeded by his son Michael.
