Alexander Hardie Williamson - View along a Canal and Tow Path toward a Woodland, oil on gesso over linen and panel, 21.5cm x 22cm, together with two further works by Hardie Williamson, Village Road, 31cm x 41.5cm, and Abstract, 31cm x 41.5cm. Note: Hardie Williamson was given a scholarship at the Design School of the Royal College of Art in 1929, on graduation he ran the fabric course for the College during the war from Ambleside. He is also well-known for his glass designs for Ravenhead Factory in St Helens and his designs for the Children's Illustrated Classics series published by Dent Dutton.
