Helen Allingham (when Helen Paterson) - 'Kinmel Hall, Abergele', watercolour, signed, titled and dated July '65, 15.5cm x 20cm, within a gilt frame. Note: a label dated 1986 to the reverse states 'This painting was rescued by Sheila Haughton from a Trunk, in the cellars, at Kinmel Hall. The date is 1865 and the subject, the 'Hopper' building which only existed c. 1844-71. It is the only known illustration of the garden view.' This is a very early work by Allingham painted when she was 16.
