A mid-19th century French ormolu cased mantel clock with eight day movement striking on a bell via an outside countwheel, the backplate with Japy Frères stamped mark above 'P. Merle a Paris' and numbered '1224 55', the signed circular enamelled dial with Roman hour numerals, the case surmounted with a classical maiden above foliate scrolls and flowers, height 37.5cm, with key and pendulum.
