LOT 1260
A late Victorian ebonized and brass mounted bracket clock with eight day triple fusee movement chiming quarters on a nest of eight bells and striking hours on a gong, the foliate engraved silvered brass arch dial with subsidiary chime/silent indicator, pendulum regulation and chime selection dials above Roman hour numerals and inscribed 'G.W Blackie 392 Strand', the case with moulded arch pediment and brass finials above turned corner columns, pierced brass fret panels to sides and moulded plinth base on brass bracket feet, height 41.5cm, with pendulum. Provenance: purportedly from Packington Hall in Warwickshire, the family seat of the Earl of Aylesford.
