LOT 1132
A George IV mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 13-inch painted breakarch dial with black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, inscribed 'B. Popplewell Bridlington', within a green and gilt decorated surround, the hood with swan neck pediment, glazed door and reeded columns, the trunk with arched door and reeded cut corners, on a panelled base, height 230cm, with pendulum and two weights (lacking feet). Note: Benjamin Popplewell is a recorded Yorkshire clockmaker between 1823 and 1840.
