Cyprian Kamil Norwid - Mniszka aniol (Angel or Nun with Wings), pen with ink, signed and dated 1860, 14.5cm x 9cm, within a gilt frame. Note: a photograph of this work taken in 1944 is held in the National Libray of Poland. Provenance: Konstancji Gorskiej (Konstancja Gorska) a friend of the artist, thence by descent to her niece Ludwika, and Ludwika's son Stanislaw; in the collection of the Karnkowski family of Lazy by 1940; acquired by the current vendors grandfather from a Polish emigre. References: Dr Edyta Chlebowska 'Z Norwidowskiego Archiwum Zenona Przesmyckiego (2): Opisy Rysunkow Norwida Z Albumu Konstancji Gorskiej' published in 'Studia Norwidiana' 29:2011.
