Wood-engraved vignette to title, 5 lithographed plates, including 1 folding, 1 folding geological map with hand-colouring, 9pp. publisher's advertisements to rear. (Lacking half-title, marginal annotation in ink to pp.xiv-xv and p.343, spotting to 3 plates, corner creasing to rear leaves, toning.) Near contemporary brown half calf, black morocco lettering piece to the spine (scuffing to spine and lower cover, minor rubbing). Provenance: T.H.T. Hopkins (stamp to front pastedown); by descent, from the estate of Rendel Williams.
