                GREECE. - William Martin LEAKE. Travels in the Morea with a Map and Plans. London: John Murray, 1830. 3 vols., first edition, 8vo (124 x 132mm.) Half-titles, 17 engraved maps and plans, 7 folding, including 1 large map supplied in facsimile, 12 lithographed plates of inscriptions, 3 folding. (Toning, light spotting to plates, blanks replaced.) Mid-20th century blue cloth (spines sunned, hinges reinforced, endpapers replaced). Note: according to Blackmer 'A fascinating work, full of interesting detail, as are all Leake's works. Particular attention is paid to Mycenae and Tiryns, and the plates include plans of both, as well as the beehive tomb at Mycenae'. Provenance: Celia and Alex Robinson (bookplates to front pastedowns, name inscribed to front-free endpapers) (3).
