First edition, fifth thousand, 8vo (218 x 140mm.) 22 wood-engraved plates, 5 maps, including 4 folding and 1 in colour, 1 folding geological subsection in colour, numerous in-text illustrations. (Toning, small repairs verso the maps, occasional corner crease, bookplate to front pastedown.) Early 20th century brown half morocco over marbled paper-covered boards (light rubbing). Provenance: by descent, from the estate of Rendel Williams.
