A Villeroy & Boch Mettlach stoneware year jug, circa 1885, relief decorated with a band of figures representing the months of the year against a blue ground, beneath descriptive text and pale brown stoneware strapwork against a pale celadon ground, fitted with a domed pewter tappit lid, green printed marks to base with impressed minerals '10 171', height 38cm.
