A.M.D., Scottish School - 'Ben Lomond', 19th century oil on canvas, signed with initials and dated 1867 recto, titled to labels verso, 60cm x 90cm, within a swept gilt composition frame. Note: there is some conflation associated with the name of this artist, who is noted as 'Alistair MacDougal' and 'Alexander Macdougall' on different gallery labels verso. Works previously sold at auction under the names John Alexander MacDougall and Allan Macdougall also correspond to the hand of this work.
