John MacWhirter - 'Springtime' (Landscape with Silver Birch Trees and Woman on a Country Path), late 19th/early 20th century oil on canvas, signed, 74cm x 49cm, within a swept gilt composition frame with foliate strapwork and centre and corner crestings. Provenance: (by family repute) Sir James Hacking; Lady Florence Hacking estate sale January 1947 where purchased by Rev. Henry Hacking and thence by descent.
