A late 19th century French bronze, marble and brass mounted sleeping Napoleon mantel timepiece, the movement with platform escapement, housed within a brown patinated bronze orb shaped case with applied gilt Roman hour numerals and surmounted with imperial eagle, flanked by a brown patinated bronze figure of a seated Napoleon with arms folded and left foot resting on a gilt barrel, the rectangular marble base applied with brass classical figures, trophies of war and festoons, on foliate capped paw feet, height 31cm.
