James Eckford Lauder - Portrait of Agnes Brown Paterson and Isabella Brown Paterson, oil on canvas, signed and dated 1849 recto, labels verso, 90m x 69.5m, within a gilt composition frame of wide section, with floral strapwork and corner crestings. Provenance: Christie's, 'British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures', 4th March 2004, lot no. 18; The Fine Art Society, stock no. 746; Agnes Brown Paterson. Exhibited: probably the work exhibited under the title 'Lady and Child', Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh, 1889, cat no. 1526.
