An early 19th century French Empire style ormolu mantel clock, the eight day movement with silk suspension striking on a bell via an outside countwheel, the gilt circular dial with Roman hour numerals, the case modelled with two classical youths standing either side of a bookcase, reading a map and book, with globe, dividers and protractor between, the rectangular plinth cast with a relief frieze of two cupids and scientific instruments above a moulded foliate band, on rosette moulded scroll feet, height 42cm, with pendulum.
