LOT 1258
A George III oak longcase clock with thirty hour movement striking on a bell via an outside countwheel, the 11-inch square brass dial with matt centre, the chapter ring with Roman hour numerals and inscribed 'Richard Stedman, Godalming', the hood with moulded pediment and glazed door, above a rectangular trunk door and plain base and plinth, height 180.4cm, with pendulum and weight (alterations and faults). Note: Richard Stedman is a recorded Surrey clockmaker working in Godalming pre-1773 to 1839.
