A mid-19th century Continental officer's dress sword with double-edged blade, blade length 82.5cm, folding brass clam shell hilt, one face with cast decoration depicting a lion and flags, the other inscribed 'E De H.L. July 4th 1856', carved wood grip and pommel with cast moulded decoration.
