							LOT 1658
                A naval commemorative creamware jug, circa 1780, probably Liverpool by Thomas Wolfe & Co, printed in black, one side with a depiction of the death of General  Wolfe, the other with two ships in full sail battling on the ocean above the 'GR' monogram backed by trophies of war, unmarked, height 25cm (faults and restoration). Note: the depiction of the death of General Wolfe on this jug is based on an engraving by William Woollett, which was taken from a painting by Benjamin West.
