LOT 1220
An early 19th century French ormolu and brown patinated bronze musical mantel timepiece by Alibert à Paris, the movement with silk suspension, the signed backplate numbered '120', the silvered circular dial with black Roman hour numerals, the case with naturalistic surround and seated maiden with butterfly surmount, the signed rectangular plinth with cast foliate band, on rosette and foliate scroll feet, the inlaid satinwood oval stand inset with a signed mother-of-pearl plaque with two selection levers, the interior containing a Swiss musical movement with 6.5cm cylinder, numbered '13435', total height 30.7cm, with pendulum, winding key and glass dome.
