AVIATION. An American Academy of Political and Social Science publication, no 1018 'Command of the Air' by R.E. Peary, dated 1916, with a presentation inscription to the title page from Peary 'To my friend Alberto Santos Dumont with admiration for his stupendous achievement - the conquest of the air. Peary', within original wrappers, 24.5cm x 17cm, together with a postcard of related interest. Note: Peary was best-known as an arctic explorer, this printed address highlights the importance of aeroplanes in modern warfare.
