NORTON, Mary. The Borrowers. London: J.M. Dent & Sons Ltd., 1952. First edition, signed by Mary Norton, 8vo (198 x 137mm.) Colour frontispiece, illustrations by Diana Stanley. (Toning, slight offsetting to title.) Original blue cloth (small stain and finger-marking to covers). Note: the inscription from Norton reads: 'To Jill, wishing her a very Happy Christmas with best wishes, from Mary Norton, Dec. 1952'. 'The Borrowers' is the first of the quintet.
