London: George Allen & Unwin Ltd., 1957-1958. 3 vols., first editions, mixed impressions, 8vo (214 x 138mm.) 3 folding maps, a hand-written book-plate written in 'Khuzdul', Tolkien's fictional language, on the front-free endpaper of 'The Fellowship of the Ring'. (Toning.) Original red cloth (slight spine lean, spine ends bumped), dust-jackets (some browning and spotting to upper panels, loss to spine ends, thin mark to upper panel of 'The Return of the King'). Note: being the seventh impression of 'The Fellowship of the Ring' in a seventh impression dust-jacket, the fourth impression of 'The Return of the King' in a fourth impression dust-jacket, and the fifth impression of 'The Two Towers' in a fifth impression dust-jacket (3).
