PANORAMA. A scarce George III wind-out paper horse racing panorama titled 'Going to Epsom Races', by Henry Alken, bearing partial paper label detailing 'A Ludicrous Amusement Consisting of Modern Costume, Characters, Dandies, Equipages and Horsemanship... 1819', the continuous strip mounted to a spindle and contained within a turned boxwood case with ring turned handle, the exterior with similar applied etching with aquatint, total length of strip 453cm (some wear and faults).
