A Regency figured mahogany mantel timepiece with eight day single fusee movement, the backplate signed 'Grimalde & Johnson 431 Strand London', the circular enamelled dial with black Roman hour numerals, the arched case with applied gilt brass lyre and anthemion decoration above ebonized stringing, on a plinth base and brass ball feet, height 19.5cm, with pendulum. Note: Grimalde & Johnson are recorded London clockmakers who were in partnership between 1809 and 1825. They are best known for their small ebonized table clocks, made in limited numbers.
