A group of three rare Cape Verde Portuguese Administration Banco Nacional Ultramarino banknote die proof engraver's test strike portrait vignettes of Alexandre Serpa Pinto in blue and black on oversized paper/card (all extremely fine, some paper discolouration and minor handling marks). Note: this style of portrait was used on notes issued in 1958. Provenance: from the personal archive of the late Alan Dow, master banknote engraver to Bradbury Wilkinson & Co and the Bank of England.
