A collection of Bank of Burundi banknote die proof engraver's test strike portrait vignettes of Prince Louis Rwagasore in blue on oversized paper/card, some cut down and trimmed (most extremely fine, some with paper discolouration). Note: Louis Rwagasore was assassinated in 1961. This style of portrait was used on notes issued 1964-1966. Provenance: from the personal archive of the late Alan Dow, master banknote engraver to Bradbury Wilkinson & Co and the Bank of England.
