SUSSEX. Two Police Ledgers serving Arundel and its environs, covering the period 1869-1876 and 1920-1932, both with daily records of which officers were on duty at what times, the weather and any remarks as to duties or crimes, 20cm x 33cm and 42cm x 27cm, the remarks include on the 30th May 1869 ‘Apprehended Albert Daughbury – charged with stealing an umbrella’, numerous mentions of drunk and disorderly behaviour, the later volume mostly documenting thefts.
