An extremely rare late 19th century Bradbury Wilkinson & Co engraved steel die plate for an advertising banknote, detailed 'Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ld., Graveurs et Imprimeurs de Billets de Banque, Obligations, Coupons, Actions, Cheques, etc... Modèle de Billet', with vignette of drover and cattle to the centre, an oval portrait vignette of a Bacchanalian maiden to the left, an oval cartouche with the numeral '5' to the right, values '5' to the corners, height 11cm, width 18.7cm (some environmental damage and rust to the border edges coming into the fields), with original card/paper sleeve with applied die proof printed cover, inscribed 'No. 3' top right (some degradation, staining, tears and losses overall).
