An extremely rare late 19th century Bradbury Wilkinson & Co engraved steel oversized die plate for an advertising banknote, detailed 'Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ld., Engravers and Printers of Bank Notes, Bonds and all Documents of Security...', with central vignette of three putti, each reading, painting and playing a harp, an oval portrait vignette of a bearded gentleman to the left, an oval vignette of a European style crest to the right, values '20' to top corners and 'Vinte' to bottom right, height 12cm, width 23cm (extremely fine), with original card/paper sleeve with applied die proof printed cover, inscribed 'No. 16' top right (damaged and torn, some losses).
