A fine Second World War period Japanese katana with curved single-edged blade, blade length 65cm, showing fine even hamon, cast bronze openwork tsuba and tape bound fishskin grip with part-hidden flowerhead menuki and partially gilt openwork kabuto-gane with colonel's sword knot in red and brown, with blackened metal scabbard with partially gilt bronze fittings.
