A Crimea Medal with four bars, 'Alma', 'Balaklava', 'Inkermann' and 'Sebastopol', with impressed naming to 'M. McCabe. 17th Lancers', with an original and spare modern ribbon. Note: although the 17th Lancers were included among the cavalry regiments that rode in the Charge of the Light Brigade, it has not been possible to confirm that M. McCabe rode in the Charge. Lummis and Wynn show 639 Private Michael McCabe enlisted circa 1839, confirm a four-bar Crimea Medal and that he received a Long Service and Good Conduct Medal as a private on 28th November 1861.
