An impressive Japanese brown patinated bronze okimono figure of an elephant, Meiji period, finely modelled standing with trunk raised above a pair of ivory tusks, incised three-character signature to underside of back right foot, height 63cm, length 74.5cm, on a carved and stained rootwood naturalistic stand, total height 81cm. Note: a non-transferrable ivory exemption certificate has been granted for the sale of this item.
