A late 19th century pre-Raphaelite style painted and carved giltwood panel, depicting a standing figure in black and scarlet robes beside an inscribed verse describing 'Alfred's summoning on Isis shore... In Oxford's Halls...', the pierced tracery surround painted with heraldic crests, height 56.5cm, width 34.5cm (woodworm and warp to central panel).
