An early Victorian Scottish mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch circular brass dial with black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials and inscribed 'A. McMillan Glasgow', the waisted hood with carved foliate and scroll mouldings, the trunk with glazed door flanked by carved foliate scroll mouldings, on a bombé base and carved scroll feet, height 210cm, with pendulum, two later weights and winding key. Note: Andrew McMillan is a recorded Scottish clockmaker and jeweller working from his Argyle Arcade premises between 1832 and 1865.
