A Smith Astral brass circular cased ship's radio room bulkhead timepiece, the signed painted dial with two red radio silence sectors and black Arabic hour numerals, the case with bevelled glass front door, case diameter 20.2cm. Note: the red sectors on the dial are for twice hourly radio silence intervals, introduced following the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, together with a brass cased Sestrel ship's wall barometer, the dial signed 'L.J. Harri Amsterdam', case diameter 20.5cm.
