A French Aesthetic period majolica pottery cased mantel clock, probably by Jules Vieillard (Bordeaux), late 19th century, with eight day movement striking on a bell marked 'MAPLE & Co PARIS', the circular dial with black Roman numerals against a ground painted in shades of brown and turquoise, the circular case with turquoise glazed cockerel surmount, the body painted with flowers and stylized scrolling foliage in shades of brown around turquoise ground Mon, flanked by mask and tongue handles and raised on an integral hardwood style base, impressed numerals to base 726, height 32cm, with pendulum and key (minor faults).
