An unusual porcelain ewer and stand (Pot à l'eau à la Romaine), probably Sèvres, late 18th/early 19th century, both pieces moulded in high relief with naturalistically painted bulrush leaves and coral like branches against a cobalt blue ground, the ewer painted with a panel of birds and with white and gilt branch like handle, its hinged lid similarly moulded and with pewter mounted shell shaped thumbrest above the gilt dentil rim edges, the oval stand with overlapping detail beneath the shaped rim with gilt dentil edge, painted with two bird panels around a central panel of painted shells and coral, both pieces overall outlined with gilding, blue painted interlaced 'L's' mark to base of each piece, stand with collector's label inscribed 'Coleccion SANTARELLI Buenos Ayres', length of stand 23cm, height of ewer 14cm.
