LOT 1155
A late 19th century French lacquered brass gorge cased grand sonnerie carriage clock, the eight day movement striking quarters and repeating on two gongs, the backplate stamped 'C.V' (Charles Voisin) and numbered '24676', the white enamelled dial with black Roman hour numerals and outer Arabic minutes, the gorge case with swing handle and bevelled glass panels, the underside with three position setting lever for 'Striking', 'Silent' and 'Full Striking', height 17.5cm, with original numbered winding key. Note: Charles Voisin was a Parisian retailer who was supplied with carriage clocks by a variety of different makers, including Drocourt.
