A Japanese elm, ivory and lacquer crystal ball stand, Meiji period, the rectangular stand with stepped frieze and cabriole legs, the top applied with a pair of ivory and lacquer okimono figures flanking a large gilt and brown lacquer urn, with carved ivory bubbling liquid emerging from within, surmounted with a crystal ball, total height 24cm, width 31cm (some faults). Note: a non-transferrable ivory exemption certificate has been granted for the sale of this item.
