A Japanese Satsuma earthenware circular bowl, Meiji period, the interior painted and gilt with a gathering of figures in a water garden with koi carp beneath an overhanging acer, within simulated brocade borders, the exterior with variously shaped panels of figures, precious objects, flowers and landscapes, unsigned, diameter 13.1cm, height 4.9cm, together with another Satsuma earthenware bowl of fluted square outline, painted with samurai, flowers and simulated brocade, width 13.2cm, height 4.9cm (chip to rim), and a small Kutani porcelain bowl, width 3.2cm.
