LOT 1481
A Minton majolica shell ewer, modelled by Hugues Protât, dated 1867, shape No. 1136, the scallop shell body with fish scale ground, surmounted by a twin tailed mermaid beneath the spout and a similar young merman beneath the handle, raised on a shell moulded spreading circular foot, impressed factory marks to base and Protât monogram to base of handle, height 38cm (repair to spout).
