A 19th century Ethiopian shotel sabre with curved single-edged double-fullered blade, blade length 81cm, profusely decorated with etched foliate panels, script, the Lion of Judah and St George and the Dragon, the ricasso marked 'G.G.' with thermometer trademark, and shaped two-piece rhinoceros horn handle, with stitched leather/skin scabbard. Note: as this lot incorporates rhinoceros horn, it would be very unlikely that a re-export certificate would be granted beyond the UK. Customers outside the UK are requested NOT to bid on this item.
