A fine Second World War period Japanese katana with curved single-edged blade, blade length 65.5cm, with fine even hamon, the signed tang with single peg hole piercing, oval iron tsuba with radiating linear engraved overlays, fabric tape bound fishskin grip with partially hidden gilt metal menuki fittings, fuchi and kabuto-gane pommel, with gilt metal mounted stained fishskin covered scabbard with twin suspension rings, and an associated embroidered silk material slip case bag.
