An ancient Egyptian steatite scarab amulet dedicated to Thutmose III, circa 15th-6th century BC, the base carved with the ichneumon mongoose beside an oval cartouche for the prenomen of Thutmose III, translating as Men-Kheper-Re, length 1.5cm, together with a hard wax impression of the design. Provenance: from the Gustave Mustaki collection, a collector of antiquities who amassed a large collection in Alexandria (Egypt) in the early 20th century.
