AUTOGRAPHS. A Royal Opera Covent Garden shaped programme for the ‘State Performance… In honour of the visit of The President of the French Republic and Madame Lebrun’, dated March 22 1939, signed by King George VI, Albert Lebrun, Winston Churchill, Neville Chamberlain, Thomas Beecham, Margot Fonteyn, Robert Helpmann, Constant Lambert, Charles Barrand, and one other, the engraved cover with royal crest in gilt above an engraved vignette and with a gilt thread tassel. Note: this was an important state visit on the eve of the Second World War.
