DR WHO. A Prisoner-of-War postcard from Germany to Australia dated 27th August 1943 from Sgt William ‘Bill’ H. Strutton, addressed to Mrs C.G. Strutton, 9.5cm x 15cm, the message thanking the recipient for a parcel containing State Express tobacco and other chitchat, handstruck with Stalag 383 and diamond ‘Passed by Censor’. Note: Bill Strutton was captured by the Germans in Crete in 1941 and sent to Stalag VII, later in life he became a novelist and screenwriter, including the Doctor Who television story ‘The Web Planet’ in 1965, the first programme to feature a completely alien cast.
