LOT 48
Hal (Henry Stephen) Ludlow (British 1861-1934) - 'Edward Prince of Wales, later King Edward VIII, later Duke of Windsor': full-length portrait on the golf links, watercolour and pencil sketch, signed lower right, inscribed in pencil lower left, with a letter from St James’s Palace to the Artist in January 15 1931, giving the Prince of Wales’ approval of the sketch attached verso, 24cm x 22.5cm, within a black frame. Note: this is the original sketch from which the life-size picture painted for the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club was worked.
