LOT 1157
An early Victorian mahogany bracket clock with eight day twin fusee movement striking on a bell, the backplate signed 'Josiah Bartholomew, Red Lion St, Clerkenwell', the similarly signed 8-inch circular painted dial with black Roman hour numerals and strike/silent lever, the drum shaped case with carved and pierced foliate scroll surmount above scroll sides, foliate rosette roundel mouldings and plinth base, height 56.5cm, with pendulum, case key and winding key. Note: Josiah Bartholomew is a recorded London clockmaker working from his Red Lion Street address between 1799 and 1844.
